On Hold Media Group Launches the Production Wizard

On hold Media Group announces the formal launch of its Production Wizard, a fully automated audio production and internet delivery system designed for the On-hold industry. As an Industry first, the Production Wizard will allow On Hold Media Group’s clients to go online from any computer and access its website – www.onholdwizard.com - for all of their on-hold production needs.

When asked how his company’s new technology would impact the industry most significantly, Allan Rhodes, the company's founder and President, replied, “In comparison to the old way of doing business, we can deliver an increased level of quality service at a more cost effective monthly fee. Formerly, every time a client needed a new customized on-hold message, we had to go through a long and arduous process, which required a lot telephone tag and many e-mails being sent back and forth (about a two week process). But now, our clients can simply go online, use their secure passwords, quickly build a new customized message (from their own proprietary library of material), set the date and time for delivery and they’re done (about a ten minute process)!”

Another major advantage of the Production Wizard is that of real-time same-day delivery. This is made possible through interfacing On Hold Media Group’s dispatch software with Premier Technologies down-line Digital Playback Unit. When asked how this better serves his clients, Mr. Rhodes stated, “this unique interface allows our company to provide an UNLIMITED upload capacity at a flat rate, whether a client needs their on-hold messages copy or music bed changed daily, weekly, or as the need arises.” In comparing the significance of this technology breakthrough, Mr. Rhodes used the following illustration: “We can now deliver a new custom message to a client everyday (365 times a year) at a monthly service fee which is equivalent to what we used to charge for a quarterly update (only four custom messages a year).”

What drives this new technology? The answer is contained in a little known software language called “ColdFusion.” In contrast to websites developed with http, ColdFusion websites can store millions of bits of information in a data base and call that information up to a client's desktop at a very high rate of speed. Additionally, because the Production Wizard is written in ColdFusion, On Hold Media Group's clients could literally have thousands of “spots” stored in their proprietary library, and the ability to view their entire production history at the Production Wizard.

Client access becomes virtually global. Mr. Rhodes wanted to create the Production Wizard on a platform that would allow his company’s clients to have full access to their on-hold library from anywhere in the world. He further stated, “We initially looked at using a PC based platform but decided that there were too many inherent and potential problems with the PC concept. One of the primary limitations to a PC based platform is that of access. In contrast, the platform we selected enables our clients to access their material from any PC in the world with the use of their secure password.”

Flexibility and range of client application. The Production Wizard has been developed with the capability to serve virtually every business imaginable from Vertical Markets and local businesses to major corporations with multiple locations requiring varying message needs. Concerning vertical markets (Banking, CPA’s, Doctors, Dentists, ect.), the company can deliver general and custom messages. For the local business, the company builds a complete custom library of messages to be mixed and matched as often as the local business desires. National and Regional corporations have the option to determine if their messages will be coordinated on a branch, regional, or national level.

Broadcast Messaging. “This is probably the most significant aspect of the Production Wizard‘s software achievement,” according to Mr. Rhodes. Additionally he states, “For the first time in our industry we now can broadcast individual customized messages to hundreds of locations with the click of a mouse.” This capability will now give regional and national corporations the ability to do what Mr. Rhodes calls “target sector marketing (broadcasting a specific message at a specific location to a specific buying public).”
